SSC CGL: how to balance quantitative aptitude, reasoning, English and general awareness

Moumita Dutta Posted 4 months ago 2.3K views

The SSC Combined Graduate Level exam tests four areas, and most candidates have one weak section. Plan your week so that every area gets regular time.

  • Practise quantitative aptitude daily, because speed comes only from repetition.
  • Do a few reasoning questions every day to build pattern recognition.
  • Read English passages and learn vocabulary from the passages you read.
  • Revise static general awareness in small notes and update current affairs weekly.

Take sectional tests first and full length mocks later, and keep an error notebook for every test.

The error notebook is the best tip here. Write each mistake and the reason in one line, and review the notebook before every mock test.

I improved my maths score only after I stopped learning new topics and practised old ones for a month.
