CAT preparation: how to divide time between VARC, DILR and QA
The Common Admission Test is conducted by the IIMs and is used by IIMs and many other business schools. It has three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability.
- Read daily to build speed and comfort in reading comprehension.
- Practise DILR sets to learn how to choose which sets to attempt.
- Revise quantitative basics up to Class 10 level first.
- Take regular sectional tests and full mocks.
Analyse each mock: time per section, accuracy and the questions you should have skipped.
