Android or iOS: which should a beginner learn first?

Both are good paths. The choice depends on your device, goals and the market you want to work in.

  • Android uses Kotlin and Android Studio and runs on a very large number of devices.
  • iOS uses Swift and Xcode, and development needs a Mac computer.
  • Cross platform tools such as Flutter and React Native let you build for both with one codebase.
  • Start with one small app and publish it to learn the whole process.

If you have no Mac, Android or a cross platform tool is the practical start.
