How to become an Air Traffic Controller in India

Ashish Dubey Posted 4 months ago 2K views

Air Traffic Controllers in India are mostly recruited by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as Junior Executives (Air Traffic Control). Always read the latest AAI notification for qualification and selection.

  • A degree such as a B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics, or an engineering degree, has been listed in notifications.
  • Selection includes an exam followed by further stages, which the notification lists.
  • English communication skills are very important, because ATC work depends on clear radio talk.
  • Check the age limit and the training period.

Follow only the AAI website for official notices.

Clear speaking and quick thinking under pressure are the main skills. Practise explaining things in short, clear sentences.

Some recruitment cycles have used GATE scores for certain posts and others have used their own exam. Check the current notice.
