How to prepare for the Civil Judge (Junior Division) exam after LLB
Judiciary exams are held by State Public Service Commissions or High Courts. A law degree is required, and other eligibility conditions differ from state to state.
- Read the bare acts first, including the civil and criminal procedure laws and the evidence law, in the form listed in your state syllabus.
- Practise writing judgments and descriptive answers, as many exams have a descriptive paper.
- Read landmark judgments as short notes: facts, issue, decision and principle.
- Prepare the local laws and the language paper of the state you are targeting.
Pick one state first and study its previous papers carefully.
