Basics of doing a research project as an undergraduate
A first research project teaches you how knowledge is created.
- Choose a small question that you can answer in a few months.
- Read a few recent papers and summarise them.
- Plan your method and your data collection before you start.
- Keep a lab or project notebook with dates and observations.
- Write the results honestly, including the failures.
Ask a faculty member to guide you and give regular feedback.
